the way in.
Hello Artist,
We consistently hear “whoa, there’s a lot going on aws…where do I begin?” Our answer is always: jump in where you are most curious! Once inside, you’ll find our offerings vary from maintaining artistic health to rigorous craft practice to successfully navigating this industry. Three common entry points follow. We encourage you to listen to your creative impulse and then take action, because that’s what makes you, you.
Our aws studio membership was created during the pandemic to sustain our artistic health and integrity outside the gig. From there, it grew into a community of screen artists that support one another in their craft, both virtually and now in-person in our Atlanta studio. Join us for weekly accountability groups, weekly jam sessions, monthly mindset meetups, and so much more. If you’re in Atlanta, PRO members are welcome to pop into our studio for coworking hours, or use our beautiful self-tape room. All members get huge discounts (30% - 45% off!) for aws classes, consults, and products.
Our methodology here at aws is translating classic theatre training into pragmatic and useful tools for film and tv. In addition to our core curriculum, we have two newly developed classes that are focused on refining and maintaining a strong foundation, an essential component of sustaining a healthy career:
Scene Study Fundamentals is a small-group collaborative for dedicated actors and multi-hyphenates. From beginner to seasoned working professionals, screen artists at all levels benefit from this foundational craft practice necessary to take the leap into memorable screen work. Join us virtually from anywhere in the world 9/20-10/25, or in-person in Atlanta from 11/8-12/13.
Meisner - The Foundation will guide you in the pursuit of Meisner’s definition of acting, ‘the ability to behave truthfully under imaginary circumstances’. Meisner’s undeniably effective approach to the craft of acting will serve as a bedrock for your practice. This class is currently offered in-person in our Atlanta studio and meets 2x/wk for 6wks on Sundays and Thursdays from 10/3-11/14.
As mentioned above, all our classes are offered at a large discount to our studio members.
Working actors not only train consistently, but maintain both a professional portfolio of materials and a healthy mindset. Navigating the industry takes skill, agility, and experience; our teaching artists have a full range of expertise in their craft, and want to help you expand and succeed. Whether you seek a one-on-one coaching session for a specific role or a focused conversation about your artistic endeavors, we’re here to help make sense of it all.
