MISSION STATEMENT

Arvold Warner Studio offers an inclusive membership community to and for screen artists dedicated to sustaining and expanding craft practice while balancing professional integrity. We hold sacred the values of individual and collective curiosity as well as personal responsibility towards an uplifting, focused, and dynamic  environment. AWS provides a platform to gain insight from industry professionals, access exclusive offerings, and thrive with fellow artists.

GUIDELINES FOR MEMBERS

We provide an invigorating, nurturing, and respectful space for professional screen artists in the film/tv community. These policy guidelines help us create as much safety and security for our members as possible. Your integrity and your privacy belong to you.

HONOR CODE

A member in good standing agrees to 

  • Be kind, always. Membership exists to provide artists a welcoming space to collaborate, create, and support one another. Healthy discussions, constructive suggestions, and productive criticism are all encouraged within the parameters of kindness, graciousness, and compassion for your fellow artist.

  • Welcome the unique contributions that all members bring in terms of their education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, veteran’s status, color, religion, differently abled, sexual orientation and beliefs.

  • Offer ideas, critiques and criticism when invited to do so, in a constructive, respectful manner.

  • Be punctual. Respect start and end times of programs, consultations, events, and classes. 

  • Honor deadlines for any assignment if you have accepted a challenge or an invitation to an event.

  • Keep the conversation to maintaining artistic integrity and related topics. Do not post any political ideology or affiliation. 

  • Mutual respect and trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make group conversations insightful and successful, but may also be sensitive and private. Information must remain confidential.

  • Take responsibility of action. Uphold this honor code for yourself and for others.

  • If you sign up or are accepted into one of our classes and you use your membership discount, our expectation is that you remain a member in good standing for the duration of the class. Should you cancel your membership during the class, you will be charged the full price of the class.

 

We take privacy and respect very seriously at arvold warner studio. Certain behaviors are not well-tolerated, and some behaviors are not tolerated at all. The cardinal rule here is “Don’t be a jerk.” Some of the things that don’t fly:

  • Doxing gets you an automatic lifetime ban, no exceptions.

  • Disrespect is a range of behaviors, and we expect you —as human beings— to understand what those behaviors look like. If you’re not sure, we invite you to watch Brene Brown’s videos on vulnerability, shame, & critics. If you don’t understand the hurtful power of disrespect after watching those, watch this. And, if, after watching all of those, you still don’t get it, we will remove you from our membership and request that you seek out a good therapist.

SAFETY

Don’t bully. Don’t harass. Don’t troll. Don’t dismiss.

Don’t infringe someone else’s copyright. Don’t plagiarize.

Don’t ask for others’ personal information. Don’t spam. Don’t self-promote unasked.

Do good. Help. Stay on topic. Remember the human behind the keyboard. Respect the other.

In other words, be positive with others; it makes all of us want you to stick around. Being negative with others might make us show you the door. Being an asshole will get you banned.

TERMS OF USE

Welcome to arvoldwarnerstudio.com, a website (the “Site”) operated by Arvold Productions (the “Company”). The Site allows you to schedule paid consultations and classes, and to purchase products and memberships. It is hosted by Squarespace.com. Check out their Privacy Policy before continuing.

The Site uses Squarespace Scheduling to manage class and consultation attendance, purchase, and management. Squarespace’s Privacy Policy is fascinating (and required) reading.

The Site allows you to join our membership product. Our membership product is hosted by Mighty Networks, Inc. When you sign up for our membership, you must agree to Mighty’s Terms of Use and Mighty’s Privacy Policy. Note that we reserve the right to cancel any membership at any time.

If you wish to cancel your membership, you must do so through Recurly, our subscription service provider.

AWS reserves the right to change plan terms and conditions at our discretion.
