The best question an actor can ask a casting director, to develop a long-term relationship

I have answered well-over 1,000,000 questions from actors throughout my 30+ year casting career.

The best questions are about the work itself and offer a valuable point of view. Discussing the process of their (or your) craft, the context & understanding of specific material, or the WHY of who we both are as artists - invites an equilibrium into the conversation between two humans.

On the other hand, the worst questions always have the subtext of needing an outcome, gathering information so an actor can get cast. There is no sharing of value in this scenario. It's seeking a result, which is short-term.

When value is given as part of the inquiry, a genuine connection is made, and it lasts.
